The Boonslick Area Tourism Council recently hung three new barn quilts in Howard County.

Heavenly Stars is located just outside Glasgow on Highway 5/240 Business on the barn owned by Debbie Johnson. Shady Pines is located on Highway 5 between Fayette and New Franklin on the farm of Newell and Marty Ferry. Dresden Plate is on the Howard and Catherine Robertson farm located on Highway 87 between Glasgow and Boonville. These bring the total of barn quilts on view in Howard County to 10.

The overall total in the Boonslick Area of Howard, Cooper, and Saline counties is 35.

Taking a drive through the area to view the barns with their colorful quilt blocks is a great way to chase away cabin fever this winter. All of the barns are on paved roads.

You can pick up a Barn Quilts of the Boonslick brochure at many local businesses throughout the area. It contains a map and addresses for all of the quilts. You can also download the brochure from the website at www.boonslicktourism.org. To see more about the quilt blocks, follow us on facebook at www.facebook.com/BoonslickTourism.
