Florence (Flo) Faubion passed away peacefully Nov. 8, 2013, at Golden Living Center in Glasgow, shortly after a visit with grandchildren and with her husband, Raymond at her side.
She was born in Chariton County to William and Sophia (Kunkel) Stallman. She moved to Howard County and later married Raymond Jackson Faubion, July 31, 1955. The couple had two children, Kelly and Jeff. She worked as a nurse at Lee Hospital and later at Howard County Home Health for a number of years.
She enjoyed being with family and friends. She especially loved her grandchildren and their visits and going to the casino. She loved to feed people, and her home-made vanilla ice cream will be forever missed by those who had tasted it. She was known for her compassion and wit, and frank discussions of politics and the justice system.
She is survived by her husband, daughter, Kelly Faubion, son, Jeff (Angela) Faubion; granddaughters, Nicole (Jeff) Cottrell, Angel Sulltrop and Madison Huebert; grandsons, Brandon (Jamie) Faubion and Ethan Faubion; and a great granddaughter, Peyton Cottrell; first cousin, Ernest Kunkel and sisters-in-law, Anna Mae Stallman, and Shirley Dougherty as well as a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by five brothers, Homer, John, Rich, Ed and Bill and two sisters, Geneva Jones and Lorene Rowland.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 14, at the Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Fayette with Rev. Harold Young officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Fayette Ministerial Alliance in care of Friemonth-Freese Funeral Service, 174 Highway 5 & 240 North, Fayette, Mo. 65248.
The family of Mrs. Faubion will have a carry-in luncheon and get-together at a later date, to be announced in the paper.
