• A MEMORIAL DAY SERVICE will be held Monday, 10 a.m., at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery north of New Frank-lin on Highway 5. The Rev. Jeff Glandon will speak.

• A BLOOD DRIVE will be held at the Boonville Masonic Main Hall Thursday, 12:30 to 6:30 p.m.

• STORY HOURS are being hosted at the Howard County Library every Thursday at 4:30 p.m. Dr. John Byland will read to young patrons and assist youngsters with reading, if asked.

• U.S. REP. SAM GRAVES will be at the Fayette Senior Center Friday, May 30, at 2:30 p.m. He will discuss issues relating to the economy. Constituents are invited to share thoughts, ideas and concerns.

• A HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTION will take place Saturday, May 31, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Call 573-874-7574 to register at least 48 hours prior to event (see advertisement).

• A WINE TASTING , BENEFIT DINNER AND AUCTION will be hosted by A&K Cooperage in Higbee on Saturday, May 31. Dinner will begin at 6 p.m. Auction, 7 p.m. Proceeds will benefit Higbee Lions Club and Masonic Lodge. Entry fee is $10.

• YELLING FOR A CURE RELAY FOR LIFE TEAM will offer antique photos to be taken Saturday, May 31, and Sunday, June 1, in the Commercial Trust Community Room. A sitting and one 8x10 photograph may be purchased for $14.95. Sessions will be by appointment only.
