ROGER DANIELS holds a tomato from his 12-foot Better Boy tomato plant at his home at 400 S. Cleveland. Ray Kimmel, the Fayette Advertiser’s agriculture correspondent, took the picture Aug. 19. “It has grown about a foot more since then,” Daniels said.

Daniels attributes the growth of the tomato plant to his use of Angus cow manure as compost. Kimmel quipped about Daniels’ methods: He should use Hereford manure so he will “quit bragging on Angus manure fertility.”
