Wilma Dee Schumaker Shelnutt, of New Franklin, passed away Dec. 14, 2012, at the Fayette Caring Center. She was 95.

She was born May 3, 1917, in Lewistown, Mo., to the late Roy and Oral Lee Barklew Roberts.  Prior to retirement, she was a nurse’s aide at Golden Hour Retirement Home in New Franklin.

Survivors include two step-children, James Shelnutt, Jr. and Jamie Shelnutt; daughter-in-law, Karen Schumaker; six grandchildren, Scott, Kevin, Corey and Devin Schumaker, Samantha Thompson and Misty Gattenby and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Raymond Schumaker and later by her second husband, James Shelnutt; two sons Terry and Darry Schumaker; a brother, Reginald Roberts and a sister, Kathleen Hawkins.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, at Markland-Yager Funeral Home in New Franklin with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial was at Clark’s Chapel Cemetery.

Memorials suggested to Silver Liner’s Senior Center.
