Former Glasgow resident, Margaret Sanders, passed away Feb. 2, 2013, at her home in Moberly, surrounded by her family. She was 85.
Margaret Louise Sanders was born on Aug. 14, 1927, in Creighton, Mo., to Luther and Mary (Gregg) Ford. She married Clifton E. Sanders, Sr. Jan. 11, 1947. He preceded her in death on Nov. 19, 1999. Margaret was a member of the Glasgow United Methodist Church.
Margaret is survived by five daughters, Wanda Cook of Macon, Bonnie Copas of Moberly, Laura Case of Marshall, Brenda Smith of Huntsville, and Betty Sanders of Moberly; six sons, Clifton Sanders, Jr. of Columbia, Edwards Sanders of Higbee, Ronnie, Sidney and Jamie Sanders, all of Fayette, and Keith Sanders of Moberly; one brother, Harold Ford of Marshall; one sister, Lola Mae Adcoke of Marshall; 26 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband, Margaret was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.
Services will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Glasgow, with Rev. Dustyn Tallman officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday evening, 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Washington Cemetery following the service on Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Washington Cemetery or the Glasgow Food Pantry, in care of the funeral home.
