Bernice Katherine Bockting, of Fayette, passed away Feb. 10, 2013, at the Fayette Caring Center.  She was 90.

Bernice was born Feb. 19, 1922, in rural Glasgow, a daughter of James Henry and Mary Clara Coy Sulltrop. She married Alva Linhart who preceded her in death in 1946. In 1948 she married Cap Bockting who also preceded her in death in 2007.

Mrs. Bockting was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fayette and was a homemaker and farm wife.

Survivors include two sons, Fred Bockting and wife, Donna and Bob Bockting, all of Fayette; two daughters, Katherine German of Columbia and Carolyn Hustedde and husband, Mike of Fayette; a brother, James Henry Sulltrop of Fayette; four sisters, Irene Crowley of Fayette, Helen Frazee of Fayette, Dorothy McClammer of Glasgow and Henrietta Harper of Jefferson City; 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a son, Donald Joseph Linhart; two brothers, Leroy Sulltrop and Victor Sulltrop and a sister, Mary Jane Silvey.

A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fayette with Father Robert Duesdieker officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Carr-Yager Funeral Home in Fayette with a prayer service concluding the visitation at 7:45 p.m.
Burial will be at the Fayette City Cemetery.
