Mildred Dort passed away Feb. 11, 2013. She was 85.

Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn (Greg) Osheroff; daughter-in-law, Joyce Dort; and sister, Grace Duren. Also, four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Mildred was raised in Howard County and moved to Kansas City, Mo., in her teens. She lived in Kansas, Colorado and Florida, and most recently in Reno, Nev.

She was a master quilter, winning many awards for her original designs and presentation.

She donated several of her quilts, wall hanging and nappers to the “Festival of Sharing” in her sister’s name, Grace Duren.

She was cremated and her ashes returned to Florida to be buried with her husband. The memorial service is a private service with family members only.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Marie and Fred Earickson, two sisters, Olive Duren and Betty Niclelson; one brother, Malcom Earickson; husband, Melville Dort; and son, Roger Lee Dort.
