Fayette resident Ruth Wells passed away at her home March 12, 2013. She was 83.
Ruth Carol Wells was born Dec. 3, 1929, in Marion County, Mo., to Clinton and Missouri (Libbee) Turnbough. She graduated from Palmyra High School. Ruth worked at Square D in Columbia for nearly 20 years retiring in 1993. She moved to Fayette in the late 90s and worked as a caregiver for many families. Ruth enjoyed quilting, gardening, fishing and feeding the birds.
Mrs. Wells is survived by her five sons: Fred (Jane) Craig of Harrisburg, Del (Brenda) Wells of Rocheport, Dewey Wells, Jr. of Long Beach, Calif., Marc (Janet) Wells of Fayette and Winston (Radonna) Wells of Columbia; 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Fayette with Rev. Harold Young officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.
