Lifelong Howard County resident Lorraine Hill, passed away May 29, 2013, at Lakeview Health Care in Boonville. She was 77.

Lorraine Lucile Hill was born March 3, 1936, in Howard County to Clarence and Trella (Gibson) Felten. She attended school at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School in Boonville and Fayette High School.  

She had been married to George Ballew, Harry Chew and Raymond “Jack” Hill. Jack Hill preceded her in death in 1989.

Lorraine had worked at Alsop & Turner Drug Store, Cozy Café and Rest Haven Nursing Home, all in Fayette. She enjoyed gardening, reading and being with her family.

Mrs. Hill is survived by four daughters, Suzie Ballew and Claudette Carter, both of Kansas City, Cindy O’Neal of Glasgow and Sherri Nowlin of Boonville, one son, Mike Chew of Fayette, three step children, Carol Felten of Fayette, Doris Hill and Terry Hill, both of Clinton, Mo., 28 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, four sisters, Isabel Morris of Fayette, Geraldine Finley of Ashland, Marie Loesing of Franklin and Margarette (Maggie) Chew of Fayette, two brothers, Clarence (Junior) Felten and Frank Felten, both of Fayette and numerous relatives and friends.  

Besides her parents and husband Lorraine was preceded in death by one daughter, Lisa Ann Chew, two brothers, Harold and Joe Felten, step son, Ronny Hill and step daughter, Wanda Hill.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 2 at the Friemonth-Freese Funeral Chapel in Fayette with Rev. Earl Howell officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Burial will be in the Boonesboro Cemetery.
