Glasgow resident, Elsie Minnis, passed away at Golden Living Center in Glasgow on Nov. 12, 2013. She was 78 years of age.

Elsie Minnis was born in Glasgow, Mo., to the late Emanuel Cason and Alberta (Moore) Cason. She married Wilbert Minnis of North Kenova, Ohio, on Nov. 17, 1957, at Lewis Chapel in Glasgow. Elsie worked at the Marshall State School, Golden Living Center and the Braun Home.

Elsie leaves to mourn her children, Pandora Miller, Teresa Whitley, Wilbert Minnis Jr., Ruth Terrill, Jacque Smith, Rodney Minnis, Anthony Minnis, Dale Minnis, Leland Minnis; two special nephews Deautre Lee and Dylan Lee; sisters-in-law, Sarah Mayo and Ida Evans of Columbus, Ohio and brother-in-law, James Linthicum of South Point, Ohio. Also surviving is one brother, Sylvester Cason, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Wilbert Minnis, three sisters, Lillian “Nanlou” Lewis, Harriet Martin, Arlena Cason, and three brothers, William Cason, George Cason and Emanuel Cason Jr.

A memorial service will be held 1 p.m, Saturday, Nov. 16, at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Glasgow, with Rev. Earl Howell officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Burial will follow the service at Lincoln Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church or Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home.
