Dorothy Thompson passed away at Golden Living Center in Glasgow on Dec. 16, 2013. She was 86 years of age.

Dorothy Bernadine Thompson was born in Chariton County, Mo., to Jesse and Nance (Coy) Littleton on April 17, 1927. She graduated from Keytesville High School in 1946. Dorothy married Emil Julius (EJ) Thompson in Marshall, Mo., on Sept. 1, 1948. EJ preceded her in death on March 5, 1992. Dorothy enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning produce, and embroidering. She also loved and cherished the time spent with her family.

She is survived by four sons, Ronnie (Helen Young) Thompson, Joe (Becky) Thompson, Alan (Phyllis) Thompson, all of Glasgow, Mike Thompson of Lake Ozark, Mo.; two daughters, Nancy (Mark) Colvin of Fayette and Kelly (Randy) Smith of Lee’s Summit, Mo; one brother, Bill Littleton of Columbia, Mo.; two sisters, Mildred Bentley of Warrensburg and Jean Thompson of Lee’s Summit; 16 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, nine sisters and one granddaughter.

Services are at 10 a.m., Friday, Dec. 20, 2013 at St. Mary’s Church in Glasgow, with Fr. Richard Frank officiating. Visitation was from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 19, at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Glasgow, with a Rosary starting at 7:45 p.m. Burial followed the service at Washington Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Mary’s School or Church.
