Fayette resident Elizabeth Ann Felten died Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2013, at University Hospital in Columbia. She was 69 years of age.

Mrs. Felten was born in Boonville, Mo., on Oct. 10, 1944, the daughter of Charles S. and Sadie M. Hurt Young. She was educated in the Boonville Public Schools and came to live in Fayette in 1985. She had worked as a waitress at the Highway Café and was employed at the University of Missouri Hospital in Housekeeping. She also worked as a Nurse’s Aide.

She married Joseph Edgar Felten who preceded her in death on April 18, 2010.

She took great joy in outdoor activities and loved animals and work in her garden.

Surviving include one daughter, Connie (Andrew) Mallick of Fayette, and two sons; Bobby Bittle of Bunceton and Donald Bittle of Boonville, as well as six step-children. Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one half-sister and one half-brother.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 29, at Friemonth-Freese Chapel in Fayette with Lecil Frink officiating. Burial followed at Fayette City Cemetery with Dustin Patterson, Alex Stretz, Dale Felten, Larry Felten, Darrell Felten, and Josh Warner serving as pallbearers.

Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 28, at the funeral home.
