Fleta Jackson, of Armstrong, passed away at her home March 12, 2014, surrounded by her husband of 70 years and their children. She was 91 years old.

Mrs. Jackson was born in McKinney, Texas, on Feb. 1, 1923, to Commodore Dewey and Nellie Mae Blankenship Edmonds. She married Elwood Jackson on Jan. 7, 1944, in Abilene, Texas. Mr. Jackson survives at their home.

She was a member of the Moberly Seventh-day Adventist Church. Fleta was employed for many years at Keller Memorial Hospital in Fayette as assistant food director. She enjoyed her family, crocheting and other handwork, gardening, cooking and baking.

In addition to her husband, Elwood, survivors include three daughters, Becky Dometrorch of Fayette; Patty Yeo and husband, Donald of Moberly and Denise Klingler and husband, Kirk of Fayette. Also cherishing her memory are five grandchildren, Richard Yeo, Amanda Duncan, Angela Coats, Ronald Durham II and Joseph Durham and 10 great-grandchildren, David, Katy and Emily Yeo; Collin and Owen Thelen; Hayleigh and Evan Coats and Lane, Jackson and Bailey Durham.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Arvel and W.C. Edmonds.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, March 16, 2014, at Carr-Yager Funeral Home in Fayette. Visitation will be from noon until time of service on Sunday.

Burial will be at Bethel Cemetery in Howard County.
