Maurine D. Kahle passed away on Sunday April 20, 2014 at University Hospital in Columbia, Mo.

Visitation was held at Davis Funeral Chapel in Boonville on Thursday April 24, from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services were held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Clark’s Fork, Mo. on Friday, April 25 at 11 a.m. The Rev. Brian Whittle and Rev. Paul Weisenborn officiated. Burial followed in the Church Cemetery.

Maurine Kahle was born in Boonville, Mo. on Oct. 20, 1936, the daughter of Ewing and Grace King. She married Glenn W. Kahle on Dec. 18, Clark’s Fork, Mo., in the same church where she was baptized and confirmed.

Maurine enjoyed traveling the world with her husband. She also enjoyed flying, receiving her private pilots license in 1967. While living in Pittsburgh, she spent many afternoons cruising the rivers on her boat the “Lady M.” Later, Maurine and her husband piloted “Lady M” down the Allegheny, Ohio and Cumberland Rivers and brought it to the Lake of the Ozarks where she spent many summer vacations with her family.

Creating and making clothes for her growing children and herself was her lifelong passion. In later life, she loved being with her grandchildren, enjoyed going to auctions, gardening and sitting in her back yard watching and listening to nature.

Maurine Kahle is survived by her husband Glenn; three sons, Norman and his wife Renee of East Moline, Ill., Leslie Kahle and Kevin Kahle of Boonville; three grandchildren Kaitlyn, Evan and Nathan; her brother Dennis King and his wife Barb of Boonville.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ewing and Grace King.

Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Clark’s Fork, Mo.
