Danny Meyer, 82, of Glasgow, passed away Monday, April 21, 2014, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.

Daniel Jerome Meyer was born on May 30, 1931, to Edward C. and Cecelia (Werner) Meyer of Gilliam, Mo. Danny was a longtime member of St. Mary Church and also a member of the Knights of Columbus. Danny was a lifetime farmer and dearly loved gardening, canning and sharing his produce. Most of all, he greatly treasured his family.

He is survived by his wife, Joanne; three sons, Jerome (Sue Ann) Meyer of Glasgow, Douglas (Sheree) Meyer, and Samuel (Laura) Meyer, both of Little Rock, Ark.; three daughters, Loretta (Ron) Mitchell of New Palestine, Ind., Margaret (Chuck) Lee of Gilliam, Mo., and Kathleen (Nate) Reuter of Columbia, Mo.; sister, Betty Lou Lucas of Kansas City, Mo., and sister-in-law, Florence Freiburghouse of Overland Park, Kan.; Danny is also survived by 23 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, James Meyer, and Jack and Richard Freiburghouse.

A Mass of Christian burial was held at 10 a.m., Friday, April 25, 2014 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Glasgow, with Fr. Richard Frank officiating. Visitation was from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, April 24, at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Glasgow. A Prayer Service and Rosary took place immediately following the visitation. Burial followed the service at All Saints Cemetery, west of Glasgow.

Memorials are suggested to St. Mary School or Church, in care of Friemonth-Freese Funeral Service.

I am so sorry for your loss. Danny was good man and know he will be missed by family and friends
