Grace Duren, a native of Fayette, Mo., passed away May 18, 2014, in Birmingham, Ala., at the age of 94.

Grace was born May 7, 1920, in Glasgow, Mo., a daughter of Fred and Marie Best Earickson. She married Willard Duren on Oct. 8, 1938.

Mrs. Duren moved to Birmingham, Ala., in 2002 to live with her daughter and son-in-law. She was an avid quilter. She made beautiful quilts for family members and donated quilts, nappers and wall hangings to the Festival of Sharing. Mrs. Duren was a member of the Fayette First Christian Church, remaining very active in church activities until she moved to Alabama. She maintained correspondence with the church and area friends until recently.

She is survived by one daughter, Grace Ann Lindsay and son-in-law, Brad. Other survivors include three grandchildren, Michael Lindsey, Angie Nall (Mark) and Kristen Glaze; six great-grandchildren, Carlie, Colton and Camden Nall and Zoe, Camille and Elijah Glaze and three nieces and two nephews.

Mrs. Duren was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Duren; her parents, Marie and Fred Earickson; three sisters and one brother.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m., Saturday, May 24, 2014, at Carr-Yager Funeral Home in Fayette. Graveside services will follow at 2:15 p.m. at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Fayette.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Fayette First Christian Church or the Festival of Sharing in care of Carr-Yager Funeral Home, P.O. Box 210, Fayette, Mo. 65248.
