Former Fayette resident, Doris Dougherty passed away at Great Rivers Klein Center in West Burlington, Iowa, July 1, 2014. She was 81 years of age.

Doris Marie Dougherty was born Jan. 7, 1933, in Alexandra, La. to Emmerich and Ruby Inez (Moore) LaBorde. She was a graduate of Bolton High School in Alexandra, La. She married Don Estill Oct. 17, 1954, and he preceded her in death in 1967. She married Frank Dougherty Nov. 7, 1968, in Fayette, Mo.  Mrs. Dougherty worked as a bookkeeper at Keller Hospital for 27 years. In her spare time she enjoyed housekeeping, cooking, reading and being with her family.

She is survived by her husband Frank of Fayette, one daughter, Tammy (Tony) Hayes of Burlington, Iowa, two sons, Terry (Patty) Estill of Fayette and Mike (Cyndi) Estill of Whitney, Texas, one step-son, Dean (Kitty) Dougherty of Cowgill, Mo., and one step-daughter, Latrisha Dougherty of Riverside, Mo., 10 grandchildren, Donnie, Jamie, Scott, Trista, Samantha, Lauren, Talis, Cawlin, Hailey and Lindsey. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by three sisters, two brothers and a daughter-in-law, Teresa Estill.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, July 5, 2014 at the Friemonth-Freese Funeral Chapel in Fayette with Rev. Harold Young officiating. Visitation was one hour prior to the service. Burial was in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery on North Route A, Fayette, Mo.
