Joan Marie Kueckelhan, 85, of Fayette, Mo., passed away at Boone Hospital Center on Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2014.

Visitation for Joan will be held at Davis Funeral Chapel in Boonville on Sunday, Aug. 17, from 3 until 5 o’clock. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fayette at 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug 18.

Joan Marie Kueckelhan, was born in Boonville, Mo., Aug. 1, 1929, the daughter of Herman Day and Clara Fry Day. She married Philip R. Kueckelhan at SS Peter and Paul Church in May of 1949 and they are the parents of six children. She was a devout member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Joan looked forward to their annual trip to Panama City until her husband’s death in 2011. Her first love was her family which her cat “Muffin” was a part of.

Joan is survived by her children; Mitchell (Kathy) Kueckelhan of St. Paul, Mo., Michael (Helen) Kueckelhan of Wellington, Colo., Marsha (Stewart) Bittner of Lake St. Louis, Mo., Mark (Lena) Kueckelhan, Matthew Kueckelhan and Martin Kueckelhan, all of Fayette, Mo. Her brother, Dennis Day, of Iowa and sisters, Patty Mutch of Ohio and Carolyn Sue Cyer, of Colo., as well as 14 grand children and 10 great-grandchildren also survive.

Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Catholic Church or the American Cancer Society.
