Raymond Faubion died Aug. 13, 2014, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia. He was 89 years of age.

'Raymond Jackson Faubion was born March 10, 1925, in Liberty, Mo., to Rev. Russell and Ruby (Humphrey) Faubion. He enlisted in the United States Navy on his birthday in 1943. He was awarded 3 stars in the Asiatic Pacific and 1 star for the Philippine Liberation and was given an honorable discharge March 11, 1946. Raymond married Florence Stallman July 31, 1955, and she preceded him in death Nov. 8, 2013.

Mr. Faubion operated an ice and coal business in Fayette for several years. He was mostly known for his dedicated work operating an appliance repair business in Fayette until he retired at the age of 79. He loved riding motorcycles, watching golf and going to the boat in Boonville.

Raymond is survived by his daughter, Kelly Faubion of Columbia, a son, Jeff (Angela) Faubion of Fayette and one sister, Shirley Dougherty of Fayette, five grandchildren, Nicole (Jeff) Cottrell, Brandon (Jamie) Faubion, Madison Huebert, Ethan (Kate) Faubion and Angel Sulltrop, one great granddaughter, Peyton Cottrell, one Aunt, Blanche Kutcher of Farmington, Iowa, and a number of nieces, nephews and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service was held Aug. 17, 2014 at 2 p.m., at the Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Fayette with Rev. Michael Jackman officiating. Visitation was one hour prior to the service. Burial with military honors followed the service at Walnut Ridge Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in care of Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home.
