Roy Douglas Offineer died Sunday (Nov. 8, 2009) at his home in Hallsville. He was 73.

Born Feb. 12, 1936, in Estill, he was the son of Emmett Leo and Sarah Kathryn Wilson Offineer. He married Donna Alexander April 7, 1967, in Moberly and she preceded him in death on Dec. 5, 2004.

He was proud of his Native American heritage, and was a U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include one son, a daughter, a brother and two sisters. Also, five grandchildren and 13 nieces, and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday today at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
