Former New Franklin resident Velma F. Lowe of Boonville died Monday (Dec. 7, 2009) at Ashley Manor in Boonville. She was 96.

Born Sept. 16, 1913, in Iowa, she was the daughter of Henry and Clara Lee English Lowe. She was employed for many years as a seamstress at the Selwyn Shoe Factory in Boonville and was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Boonville.

Visitation will be from 12 to 1 p.m. Wednesday (today) at Markland-Yager Funeral Home in New Franklin with graveside services following at Clark’s Chapel Cemetery near Franklin.

Memorials are suggested to Clark’s Chapel Cemetery.
