Lisa Asbury, left, is congratulated by Patricia Munk following the final primary election announcement outside the Howard County courthouse. Asbury won the Democratic Party's nomination for Howard County Public Administrator by a vote of 766 to 228.

In convincing fashion, Lisa Asbury defeated Patricia Munk by more than a 3-to-1 margin to win the Democratic Party's nomination for the Howard County Public Administrator in Tuesday's primary election. The announcement was made shortly after 9:30 p.m. outside the Howard County courthouse.

Asbury won the party's nomination by a vote of 766 to 228, earning just over 77 percent of the votes. Following the announcement, Asbury took a moment and spoke to nearly 30 people in attendance on the courthouse lawn, thanking her supporters.

The Howard County "use tax" was decided by a much closer vote. The tax did not pass by a vote of 917 to 894.

Also on the ballot was a city of Glasgow use tax. It also failed by a margin of 104 to 97.

According to the election summary report released by Howard County Clerk Kathyrne Harper, 1,896 ballots were casted in Howard County, with 24.19 percent of registered voters making their way to the polls for the primary election.

Here are the other results tabulated from the contested statewide primary races, first listing the total statewide results and then the results from just Howard County voters. The final vote listed below is for Constitutional Amendment No. 2, which was the only issue to appear on every primary ballot statewide.
