Glasgow resident, Irvin Fuemmeler, passed away at his home on Oct, 3, 2012.  He was 89.

Irvin Henry Fuemmeler was born on Aug. 3, 1923, in Aholt, Mo., to Frank and Flora (Ginter) Fuemmeler.  He attended grade school at St. Mary’s Catholic School in Glasgow.  Irvin served in the United States Navy as a Seaman First Class from Feb. 1946 to Dec. 1947, earning the WWII Victory Medal.  He married Mildred Kruessel on Jan. 28, 1950, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Salisbury, Mo.  Irvin was a hardworking and dedicated farmer.  He was a devout member of St. Mary’s Parish and a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus.  

He is survived by his wife, Mildred; four daughters, Joyce Ann (Jerry) Arrowwood of Fulton, Mo., Carolyn Fuemmeler of Columbia, Mo., Janice (Rick) Watts of Armstrong, and Mary (Ricky) Brundage of Glasgow; three sons, Richard (Leslie) Fuemmeler of Armstrong,  Michael (Betty) Fuemmeler of Columbia, and Leon (Melissa) Fuemmeler of Glasgow; three brothers, Vince (Rose) Fuemmeler of Mexico, Mo., Leon (Marie) Fuemmeler of Albuquerque, N.M. and Ray (Sheryl) Fuemmeler of Armstrong; two sisters, Ileen (Tony) Thies of Glasgow and Bernice (Lawrence) Henke of Armstrong; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.  

Besides his parents, Irvin was preceded in death by four brothers, Clarence, Eugene, Melvin, and Maurice, and one sister, Edna Nichols.

A funeral mass was held Friday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Glasgow with Father Richard Frank officiating.  Visitation was Thursday evening from 5 to 8  p.m. with a Rosary at 7:30 p.m. at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Chapel.  Burial was in Washington Cemetery with Derek, Dustin and Chadd Fuemmeler, Greg Schaefer, Levi Owens, Cody Yung, Danny Parks, Ryan Cunningham and Brandon Hubbel serving as pallbearers.

Memorials are suggested to St. Mary’s Church in care of the funeral home.
