Viola Elizabeth “Libby” O’Brian, 83, of Branson passed away Saturday Oct. 20, 2012, at Cox Medical Center, Springfield.

Libby was born on July 18, 1929, in Burton to Everett Hollis Jackson and Susie (Reed) Jackson. She attended school in Fayette and graduated from Fayette High School. She married Leon O’Brian in Fayette in 1947. In addition to being a loving wife and mother Libby worked for several years as a real estate broker in Moberly.

She relocated to Branson during the 1980s. Libby attended the Branson United Methodist Church where she was extremely active in numerous activities. She was a member of the United Methodist women, attended and taught the Antioch class and also ran the Thrift Shop at the Branson United Methodist Church for years. She also owned and operated the Beachview Rentals in Branson.

Libby was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Leon O’Brian, one son, Lee O’Brian, and a daughter Peggy Dotson. She was also preceded in death by her brothers Henry Jackson, Leonard Jackson, Bill Jackson and Reed Jackson. Sisters Pearline Banning and Ethaleen Palmer and two grandchildren, Greg O’Brian and Kimberly O’Brian.

Libby is survived by her son, Steve O’Brian and wife Patty of Columbia. Five granddaughters, five great grandsons and one great granddaughter, one step granddaughter and one step grandson.

Funeral services were Oct. 23, at 12 p.m. at the Branson United Methodist Church. Visitation preceded the service at 11 a.m. Additional funeral services followed on Oct. 24, at 11 a.m. at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Moberly. Visitation preceded those services at 10 a.m. at the church. Burial followed in Log Chapel Cemetery in Burton with arrangements under the direction of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home, Branson.
