Former Fayette resident Robert Wainscott passed away Nov. 26, 2012, at Harry S Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital in Columbia. He was 84.

Robert Lee Wainscott was born March 27, 1928, in Harrisburg, to Vernie C. and Cassie J. (Ewens) Wainscott.  Mr. Wainscott served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  He married Barbara A. Davis Dec. 23, 1966, in Boonville, and she preceded him in death Feb 23, 1974.  Robert had worked at Fayette Dry Cleaners for a number of years and also at Keller Memorial Hospital until his retirement.

Survivors include a step-son, Jack Brown of Bellflower, Calif., and step granddaughter, Brandy, two nieces, Linda Reed of Carlsbad, Calif., and Sandra Webster of Boonville, four nephews, Richard Wainscott of Pevely, Mo., John Wainscott of Denver, Colo., Ken Wainscott of Stockton, Mo. and Steve Wainscott of West Palm Beach, Fla., and a number of great nieces, nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, and one great-great-great nephew.

Besides his wife and parents he was preceded in death by three brothers and an infant sister.

Funeral services were held 1 p.m., Friday, at the Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Fayette with Rev. Harold Young officiating.  Visitation was one hour before the service.  Burial with military honors were held at the Fayette City Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the Fayette City Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
