This Saturday will be the main day for the annual Central Methodist University Family Weekend. Various activities involving CMU students and their parents and CMU staff and faculty will be held between Friday and Sunday.
Friday night’s activities include the Fine Arts Celebration at 6:15 p.m. in the Student and Community Center. Music and theatre arts students will be recognized for their accomplishments.
Saturday’s athletic events include CMU vs. Graceland University women’s soccer game, 3:30 p.m., and CMU vs. Benedictine College football game, 6 p.m.
Other events on Saturday include a mock election, a story hour, T-shirt dyeing, man-on-the-street interviews, chemistry demonstrations, SAI (Sigma Alpha Iota) and marching band performances, a presentation by the university’s SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise) Team and a picnic lunch.
Sunday’s events include the 10 a.m. worship service at Paul H. Linn Memorial United Methodist Church on the CMU campus, during which the Swinney Conservatory Singers will perform, a guest recital Sunday in the Willie Mae Kountz Recital Hall at 4 p.m. and The Ashby-Hodge Gallery of American Art exhibition from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.
