Katherine F. McClammer, age 91, formerly of Fayette, passed away Jan. 17, 2013, at Golden Living Center New Haven in Odessa, Mo.
Katherine was born in Fayette on Sept. 2, 1921, to Lee and Ida Powell. She married Ira McClammer on Dec. 31, 1942, in Richmond, Mo. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. McClammer was employed with the Fayette City Offices for many years and had also been employed at Geiger Furniture in Boonville. She was a member of the Fayette First Christian Church and the Rebekah Lodge. She was a NASCAR fan and her favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt, Jr. She enjoyed country music and crafts. She especially enjoyed spending time and traveling with her family and participating in their activities.
Survivors cherishing her memory are, a daughter, Cheryl Sims and husband, Mark Schweer of Odessa; daughter-in-law, Carol McClammer of Independence, MO; five grandchildren, Stacy Chandler and husband, Charles “Chip” of Independence, Tiffany Jay and husband, Jeremiah of Blue Springs, Mo., Michael McClammer and wife, Katie of Oak Grove, Mo., Todd Sims and Amber Schweer both of Odessa; seven great-grandchildren, Aaron and Michael Chandler, Maddi and Macie McClammer, Trevor, Trenton and Bentley Sims. Also surviving are a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John and O’Dell McClammer of Fayette and sisters-in-law, Sarah Avery of Spokane, Wash. and Dorothy McClammer of Glasgow, as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Larry E. McClammer.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, at Carr-Yager Funeral Home in Fayette with Rev. Alan Strickler and Rev. Paula Ritchie officiating. Visitation was one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial was at the Fayette City Cemetery.
