Middle school cross country wraps up season

The New Franklin, Glasgow and Harrisburg middle school cross country teams concluded their seasons on Monday at Mexico.

Glasgow’s Hadley Sanders led the way in the girls race, taking third place with a time of 10:03. She missed winning the meet by a mere two seconds.

Samaria Kyle-Squires (22nd place, 10:55), Emma Massie (49th place, 11:49) and Jamila White (90th place, 13:19) also ran for the Lady Jackets.

Harrisburg finished in 11th place in the team standings, led by Zoe Carr’s 15th-place finish in a time of 10:45. Alee Thornhill also had a top-50 time, finishing in 33rd place with a time of 11:16.

Other runners for Harrisburg include Olivia Fischer (12:29), Baylie Combs (14:34), Hailey Emanuel (15:29) and Allie Canote (15:39).

New Franklin had two girls running at Mexico. Mallori Burnett came in 16th place out of 117 runners with a time of 10:46, while Madelyn Chaney took 84th place with a time of 13:07.

The New Franklin boys finished in sixth place out of 12 teams in the standings. Tyler Perkins finished 14th overall in a time of 9:45, while Jackson Dorson wasn’t far behind in 17th place with a time of 9:49. Sam Ridgeway also posted a top finish, taking 24th place with a time of 9:58.

Other Bulldog runners include Alex Grover (70th place, 11:33), Tysen Dowell (87th place, 12:21) and Ethan Wells (97th place, 13:41).

Glasgow’s Bryce Himmelberg came in 43rd place out of 100 runners with a time of 10:36.
