Fayette Area Community Theatre presents ‘Godspell Jr!’

During a recent practice, Godspell Jr.! cast members mimic the famous painting by Leonardo Da Vinci; The Last Supper.

Come join the cast of Fayette Area Community Theater’s production Godspell Jr! This upbeat show is perfect for the entire family and has a running time of approximately one hour.  The original Godspell was the first major musical theatre offering from three-time Grammy and Academy Award-winner, Stephen Schwartz, and it took the world by storm.  Boasting a score with chart topping songs, Godspell JR. is a sensation that continues to touch audiences.
A group of disciples help Jesus Christ tell different parables by using a wide variety of games, storytelling techniques and a hefty dose of comic timing. An eclectic blend of songs, ranging in style from pop to vaudeville, is employed as the story of Jesus’ life dances across the stage. Dissolving hauntingly into the Last Supper and the Crucifixion, Jesus’ messages of kindness, tolerance and love come vibrantly to life.
Performances will be July 21 and 22 at 7 p.m.; July 23 at 2 p.m. at  116 Main Street (future site of Alexander Hotel) on the corner of Main and Morrison.  Tickets are Adult – $12; Stuents/Senior citizens – $6; 5 and under Free.
