Howard County celebrates Independence Day

The Independence Day Party in the Park on July 4 started on par with a hot, muggy morning. A dog show kicked things off, followed by a parade through the park. The aromas of Bar-Be Que and kettle corn enticed event-goers enjoying a bounce house and baseball throw. But heavy rains that began around noon put a damper on the day-long festivities and cut short the presentation of Quilts of Valor.
