Jacob Mitchell Maxwell, of Saint Louis, formerly of Hallsville, passed away July 25, 2019 at Mercy Hospital South surrounded by his family and friends at the age of 21.
Jacob was born November 12, 1997. He lived in Saint Louis for the early years of his life, where he enjoyed boy scouts, playing soccer, attending Cardinals games, and spending memorable times with his family and friends. He moved to Hallsville at the age of 13. Jacob loved fishing and hunting and was always proud of the first buck he harvested. He continued his love of sports by competing in track, wrestling, and baseball. He was a proud member of the FFA and enjoyed traveling to FFA National Convention in Indianapolis and Louisville. He graduated from Hallsville High School in 2016. He had a special love for animals, dogs, cats, horses, even rats and ferrets, and they would always trust him. Jacob worked as a corrections officer at Missouri Eastern Correctional Center in Pacific, Mo.
Jacob is survived by his mother, Amy Maxwell, his father, Shawn (Suzanne) Belcher, his grandparents, Judy Maxwell, Danny and Sandy Stephens, Martin Jennings, John and Marcia Phillips, and Dan and Ellie Funke, his sister, Kylie Maxwell, Godmothers Maria Stokes and Emily Schiltz, fiancé Nicole Hawkins, Uncle and Aunt Ron and Dotty Sides, as well as many other uncles, aunts, and cousins in Missouri, Kansas, and California.
