Long time Armstrong area farmer, Kenneth Kottman, 88, passed away December 20, 2019 at Moberly Nursing & Rehab.
Kenneth Fred Kottman was born September 9, 1931 in Las Vegas, New Mexico to Ernest and Emelia (Luecker) Kottman. He graduated from Glasgow High School in 1949. Kenneth married Leanna Gebhardt on April 7, 1956 at Salem Lutheran Church in Forest Green, Mo. He was a faithful member of Salem Lutheran Church serving in many capacities. He was also active in several organizations and boards, the Glasgow Co-Op, Farm Bureau, American Legion and Endless Options in Fayette.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Leanna Kottman, of Moberly; three sons, David (Sandi) Kottman of Armstrong, Mo., Mark (Dawn) Kottman of Minneapolis, MN and Glenn (Stephanie) Kottman of Armstrong, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Ben and KC Algier, Christopher, Timothy & Michael Kottman, and Mattie and Kate Kottman, three great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, LaVerne Gessling, a brother, Ralph Kottman, daughter-in-law, Joan Kottman and granddaughter, Cynthia Kottman.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Monday, December 23, 2019 at Salem Lutheran Church in Forest Green, Mo. with Pastor Noah Burgdorf officiating. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Glasgow and an hour before the service at Salem Lutheran Church. Burial with military honors will be in the Salem Lutheran Church Cemetery following the service.
