Voted on by area coaches, the prestigious KRES All-Star team was announced Monday with Fayette and Harrisburg well represented.
No Missouri All-Star team named for the 2021 season would be complete without Garren Vroman. The Fayette senior rushed for more than 2,099 yards while scoring 36 rushing touchdowns and seven through the air. All of this was done while taking care of an injured knee that will require surgery now that the season is over. Vroman will fill one of the running back slots on the team, along with Hunter Nelson of Marceline, and Joshua Talton of Monroe City.
Chosen at quarterback was Hallsville’s Tyger Cobb.
Receivers named to the squad were A.J. Austene of Hallsville, and Chrisjen Riekeberg of Macon.
Chris Brown of Fayette anchors the offensive line. Brown played center for coach Mike Thompson of Fayette the entire season. On either side of Brown on the line are Seth Hasekamp of Centralia, Trey Monroe of Mark Twain, Landen Gardner of Marceline, and Bo Patterson of Monroe City.
Harrisburg’s Tanner Fike holds down the defensive line as he did all year for the Bulldogs and is surrounded by Austin Tucker of Brookfield, Langden Kitchen of Westran, and Justin Lunsford of North Shelby.
The linebackers are Ceaton Pennewell of Monroe City, Alex Long of Scotland County, Beau Gordon of Centralia , and Quinn Massey of Westran.
Jace Carr of Harrisburg holds down a spot in the defensive backfield with Jace Bixenman of Marceline, and Jamesian McKee of Boonville holding down the last DB spots.
Cale Stoneburner of North Shelby was named the all-purpose player while Christian Chaparro of Milan was named the kicker.
