Central Methodist University will host its annual music festival on Friday, March 3. Twenty-seven bands and 27 choirs, along with more than 700 solo and ensembles will perform before judges on the CMU campus.
Fifty-five middle and high schools have entered this year’s event. Performances run from 8 a.m. until around 5 p.m.
Busses will begin arriving around 7:30 a.m. and will load and unload along Church Street throughout the day. Those driving through the area are expected to exhibit extra caution.
The Fayette High School band will perform at 11:12 a.m. on the fourth floor of the Inman Student and Community Center. The Clark Middle School band is scheduled to perform at noon.
The Fayette bands will be the only local bands performing. Both Fayette and Glasgow choirs will perform in Linn Memorial United Methodist Church.
At 8:24 a.m., the Glasgow Glee Club will perform, followed by The Glasgow 10 at 9 a.m. The FHS concert choir performs at 9:36 a.m.
Spectators are welcome to attend all performances. However, those attending should be aware that performances are judged, and entering and leaving performance sites, especially for larger ensembles, should be done with adherence to schedules. Also, parking will be extremely limited.
