Sergent First Class Sadell, U.S. Army, died on October 24, 2010, after suffering wounds in an attack in Arif Kala, Afganistan, and was awarded the Purple Heart Medal posthumously.
Kristin, formerly of Fayette and Harrisburg, submitted her story of being a widow at 31 with two small children to the MSSDAR (Missouri State Society Daughters of the American Revolution). The certificate was awarded at the Howard County Chapter NSDAR at their regular meeting on Thursday May 15.
