In celebration of Arbor Day, the Fayette MO Tree Board will have a tree giveaway on Sat. April 27th from 9-11am on the Howard County Courthouse lawn. If you would like to reserve a tree, please contact Bekki Galloway at bekkilou@gmail.com. The trees will need to be planted right away, so read about the tree you might like and pick a spot ahead of time; see https://mdc.mo.gov/discover-nature/field-guide.The following trees will be arriving from the MDC Nursery in Licking MO:
10 Bur Oak
10 Black Cherry
10 Cherrybark Oak
10 Hackberry
10 Northern Red Oak
10 Pecan
10 Sweetgum
10 Serviceberry
Wait List: 150 Redbud are arriving for Fayette Public Schools, 1st and 8th graders will receive one. Any unclaimed by students or staff will be available to the public. 4th graders continue to receive a tree from the MO Department of Conservation each year.
