In their second-highest scoring performance of the season, the Central Methodist Eagles cruised past Grand View University, 100-85, Saturday night in Des Moines, Iowa.

Central closes out the 2023 portion of the season with an overall record of 10-2, and a 6-2 record in the Heart of America Athletic Conference. The Vikings fall to 5-6 and 2-6 in conference play.

Four different Eagles landed in double figures, with Trey Sinegal leading the way with 27 points on 10-for-14 shooting from the floor and 5-for-7 from 3-point range. It marks the junior guard’s highest-scoring performance of the season and his second 20-point game in the last three contests. He also added seven rebounds to the Eagles' dominant effort on the glass.

Fellow guard Isaiah Williams dropped in 22 points, highlighted by a game-high six threes. He was also a perfect 4-for-4 from the charity stripe. Like Sinegal, the 22-point scoring performance is a new season high for the native of Jersey City, N.J.

Marcus Anthony added 13 points while Peter Turay chipped in 12 points in 19 minutes of action to round out the double-digit scorers. Turay grabbed a game-high nine rebounds, nearly securing a double-double.

Trent Lyles had a productive afternoon coming off the bench, scoring five points and adding six rebounds and five assists. Everett Stubblefield matched Lyles with a team-high five assists. Altogether, Central dished out an assist on 19 of its 34 made field goals.

Central dominated the glass, grabbing 42 rebounds compared to 33 for Grand View. In addition, the Eagles shot well from the field (50%), the 3-point line (35.3%), and the charity stripe (76.9%).

The Eagles will next host rival Missouri Valley College at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 3, inside Puckett Field House.
