Christmas parade, Kids Market, craft fair on Sat.

The annual Christmas parade in downtown Fayette begins at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Presented by Fayette Main Street, this year’s event will be a lighted Christmas parade that will cruise throughout town.

Those interested should email Fayette Main Street at fayettemomainstreet@gmail.com to sign up a club, group, church, business, or family. Participants will line up at 4:30 p.m.

Always a staple of the annual parade, Santa Claus will ride through town. This year he will be joined by Mrs. Claus. Following the parade, the man in red will take Christmas requests from children at the bandstand on the south side of the courthouse lawn.

Prior to the parade, the Kids Market will make one last appearance for 2021 from 2 to 4 p.m. in Tricky Fish Community Center on South Main street on Saturday. Presented by Fayette Main Street and spearheaded by Liz Dougherty, the popular event ran during the first two Saturdays of June, July, and August over the summer, growing in size each time.

The Kids Market offers the chance for young entrepreneurs in Howard County to sell a multitude of products from chocolate and baked goods to crafts and jewelry.

Additionally, the third annual Country Christmas Craft Show will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the high school.
