To the Editor:
This is in response to the article that was in the Fayette Advertiser on Wed., Aug. 5th concerning the Howard County Coroner, Frank Flaspohler, and the Glasgow School District.
I asked the coroner for a copy of the inquest not to clear anyone’s name. I asked for a copy of the inquest after learning several minor students names were mentioned at the coroner’s “open inquest.”
I was curious why the parents of said students, nor the minor students, were ever notified, interviewed, or asked to be present at the coroners inquest or before.
I had no reason to clear anyone's name, as Mr. Flaspohler stated to my husband and I when we met with him, “students’ names were not to be mentioned at the inquest as they were ‘hearsay’ from other minor students. We just needed some names throughout to go after the school.”
The Howard County Coroner gave me a copy of the inquest, at no charge, on Feb. 23, 2017. He requested I did not give the inquest to the media or any other person.
I feel it is very unfortunate my name is still in the middle of Frank Flaspohler, Howard County Coroner, court proceedings because of many unfortunate mistakes.
