The short-handed Central Methodist men's basketball team used a balanced scoring attack from its starting five to earn a 95-85 victory over Culver-Stockton College at home Saturday night. 

With the victory, Central improves to 14-4 overall and 5-2 in the Heart and remains atop the South Division standings. The Wildcats fall to 11-5 and 2-5 in conference play. 

Freshman Thomas Sowoolu led the offensive charge with his second straight 20-point outing, as the London, England native scored 21 points. He also added a game-high 10 rebounds to earn a double-double. 

Sophomore guard Trent Lyles was right behind Sowoolu with 20 points on four-of-six shooting from 3-point range, including a perfect six-for-six from the charity stripe. In addition, Lyles recorded seven rebounds and dished out six assists. 

Freshman Charlie Bronakowski recorded his second double-digit scoring outing of the season with 18 points in 27 minutes off the bench. Freshman guard Marcus Anthony recorded 17 points, five rebounds, and five assists in his second start of the new year. 

Sophomore Isaiah May rounded out the double-digit scorers for CMU with 12 points. Classmate Jayden McGrew was a key contributor in Central's offense, dishing out a game-high nine assists and scoring seven points in the win. 

CMU did the majority of its damage from long range, converting on 45.5-percent of its 3-point attempts. Central controlled the boards, nearly doubling up on rebounds with 42 compared to just 24 for Culver-Stockton College. 

The Eagles will next face MidAmerica Nazarene (8-8, 3-3) tonight at 7:30 p.m. in Olathe, Kansas.
