County tax revenues in December up slightly

Posted

Revenues in Howard County collected in December 2020, totaled $7,401,125, up slightly from the same month in 2019, according to county collector Jinger Felten. That total does not include a payment of around $100,000 that arrived late from a railroad in Texas. The late payment was purportedly caused by delays with the postal service.

The total included personal property, real estate, railroad, and utility taxes that were due no later than the close of business on Dec. 31, 2020.

Nearly $286,000 in personal property taxes and $316,000 in real estate taxes went unpaid and are considered delinquent.
