Dale L. Allenbaugh of Aubrey, Texas, passed away July 28, 2022, at the age of 71.

He was born on June 17, 1951, to Elbert Merle Allenbaugh and Lena Juanita (White) in Higbee, Missouri. Dale graduated from Fayette Senior High School in 1969, and he joined the military following graduation. Dale served in Vietnam with the United States Army until 1972. After leaving active duty, Dale went to school at Northeast Missouri State University, now Truman State. He earned his bachelor’s degree in History and met his wife while there. Dale and Jamie were married on May 8, 1977, in Fayette, Missouri. They started their family with the birth of their daughter, Rachel, in 1979. They grew their family again with their daughter, Jenny, in 1981. The family moved to Illinois in 1992 following work and then to Texas in 2019 to be closer to their grandkids. As a young man, Dale rode motorcycles and later turned to bicycles to satisfy his love of being on two wheels. He was elected mayor of Biggsville, Illinois, and served for many years enabling water access for the community. Dale was a great observer of others, always looking to help others and put his handyman skills to work. Dale was an avid reader and napper while also always working on some home improvement projects.

Dale is survived by his loving wife, Jamie Allenbaugh of Aubrey, Texas; beloved daughters, Rachel Allenbaugh of Murray, Kentucky, and Jenny Allenbaugh (Eric Christensen) of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren, Opal and Henry Christensen of McKinney, Texas; brothers, Robert Allenbaugh of Moberly, Missouri, and David Allenbaugh of Liberty, Missouri; and by numerous other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
