1953 – 2025

Posted

Diana Jean “Buffy” Mueller, 71, of Fayette, Mo., passed away May 27, 2025, at King County Hospital in Brooklyn, New York, while vacationing with her family.

Buffy was born in Fayette on December 21, 1953, and was the daughter of William and Betty Moyer Mueller. She was a 1972 graduate of Fayette High School. Buffy was employed with Rest Haven and The Lodge since 2010. Her previous places of employment included National Garment, American Recreation, Pizza Hut, HomeCare of Mid-Missouri, and Endless Options. She loved helping others and made many friends helping those where she worked.

Buffy was a free spirit who lived life on her terms, and she was always ready for a good time and was often the life of the party. She could most often be found wearing a tie-dye shirt, listening to music, and enjoying a cocktail. She loved any animal that would let her pet it. She enjoyed going to concerts, going on float trips, camping, watching NASCAR, playing horseshoes, and caring for her plants. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends. She never met a stranger and would often be found wandering off from the group to make new friends wherever she went.

Those cherishing her memory include her daughter, Cassie Milnes, and husband, Jeromy of Fayette; a brother, Gary “Zeke” and wife Diane Mueller of Fayette; granddaughter, Zoey Babboni of Fayette; nephew, Jeremy Mueller; great-nephew, Bayne Mueller; a best friend and cousin, Barb Cruser and husband, Mike; and many friends whom she considered family. Buffy was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Dennis “Pudge” Mueller, Henry “Egg” Mueller, and Michael “Dumplin” Mueller.

Services honoring Buffy’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 6, 2025, at Carr-Yager Funeral Home, with Rev. Mike Jackman officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Fayette PAWS Program.

Condolences may be shared at www.carryager.com.

Carr-Yager Funeral Home is honored to serve the Mueller family.
