Two Glasgow High School seniors reached major career scoring milestones on the same night. During Glasgow’s win over Pilot Grove on Feb. 10, Karsyn Massie scored the 1,000th point of her career, while Halle Fuemmeler reached the rare 2,000-point milestone. The achievements were made on back-to-back possessions.
The win came as the Lady Jackets soundly defeated Pilot Grove 68-15 in a CAC matchup on the road. Glasgow is now 17-9 overall and drew the fourth seed in next week’s Class 2 District 7 District Tournament.
Earlier this season, Massie also surpassed 1,000 career rebounds in front of a home crowd on Jan. 23 as the Lady Jackets rolled Sturgeon 72-29. According to records dating back to 2000, she is the first player to reach 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds. Fuemmeler’s mark is thought to be the first time a Lady Yellowjacket has broken the 2,000-point barrier, as she is now the high-scoring girl in school history.
