Central Methodist extended its losing skid to three games with a lopsided 42-3 loss at home on Saturday to longtime Heart foe Baker University.
Central now stands at 2-6 and 1-3 in the Heart of America South Division. The win was Baker's fourth in a row, improving the team to 4-3 and 4-0 in conference action.
The Eagles held a slight advantage in time of possession, holding the ball for 30:15, compared to 29:45 for the Wildcats. However, BU forced four turnovers, including two fumbles and an interception, and blocked a punt.
Darius Shakor George led the rushing effort for Central with 42 yards on seven carries. Jamar Nuby followed with 37 yards on eight carries.
Both Jordan Gile and AJ Donovan saw action under center for the Eagles. Donovan played a majority of the game after Gile left in the first half due to injury, completing four of eight passes for 26 yards and an interception. Donovan went 9-for-17 for 95 yards.
Defensively, Treyvion Hourel Jr. finished the day with a team-leading nine tackles while Carson Evangelist added six.
Cristobal Salgado converted Central's lone score of the game on a 24-yard field goal in the fourth quarter.
CMU heads back out on the road for two games, starting with a matchup against Culver-Stockton College at noon on Saturday in Canton, Mo. Next week, the Eagles travel to St. Louis to face Missouri Baptist at 5 p.m. Central concludes the season at home against Missouri Valley College with a noon kickoff on Saturday, November 15.
