The Fayette football team held a joint practice and scrimmage against nearby Class 4 team Fulton on July 17 at the Central Methodist University football field.
With nearly everyone back from a year ago, and most players suited up, second-year head coach Kole Hinton said his team displayed much of the same schizophrenic look as last year’s 2-8 squad.
“We did a lot of really, really good stuff,” Hinton said. “Then it was like, what are we doing?”
He noted that a few key players were absent from the scrimmage.
Hinton and the Falcons return to CMU for the preseason jamboree on Aug. 23. They open the season at Carrollton on Aug. 30 with a 7 p.m. kickoff.
