The City of Fayette is seeking a new City Administrator. A city council subcommittee met Friday afternoon to finalize a job description and salary range for the position. Fayette has been without a city administrator since June 2021, when then-administrator Tyler Griffith resigned days after announcing a three-week leave of absence less than halfway through his two-year contract.
Former city alderman Mike Dimond later served in a quasi-administrative role as Assistant to the Mayor from September 2023 until April 2024. Since then, Mayor Greg Stidham has taken on many of the tasks associated with a full-time administrator.
According to the city’s job description, candidates for the job should possess a bachelor’s degree in public or business administrator or a related field or have equivalent experience, at least two years of experience in financial and personnel management, economic development, public relations, and grant writing, and two years of supervisory experience.
