Tim Jackman and Lou Lockridge-Lane, members Fayette Together, handed out donuts to the Howard County Sheriff’s and the Fayette Police departments on Thursday, January 9, in commemoration of Law Enforcement Day.
Fayette Together is a local nonprofit organization whose mission is to foster inclusivity in the Fayette community. The organization’s slogan is, “reflections of yesterday and today, and shining lights towards tomorrow.”
Lockridge-Lane said Fayette Together wanted to recognize the area’s dedicated law enforcement officers for national law-enforcement day.
“We extend our heartfelt gratitude for your tireless dedication and your service, your courage, commitment, and professionalism. It makes our community safer and also stronger. Your work requires sacrifices that often go unnoticed. Sometimes, you feel unappreciated, but we want to let you know your impact on this community is immeasurable. Please know that we see you. We stand with you and we are profoundly grateful to all that you do to serve, protect, and to support those in need.”
Founded by C.O.P.S (Concerns of Police Survivors)National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day was created by multiple organizations in 2015 to express their gratitude for officers in the United States.
