Fayette woman chosen for prestigious statewide conference

A Fayette woman was selected to participate in the prestigious 2025 Greater Missouri Leadership Conference. Megan Blakemore is a Program Director at Stephens College and a Physician’s Assistant at the VA Hospital in Columbia. She is among 33 women across Missouri to be chosen for this year’s cohort.

The Greater Missouri Leadership Challenge is a year-long statewide traveling symposium providing women leaders with education and experiences to inspire them to address critical issues facing our state. Participants meet for four three-day sessions combining continuing education in leadership development, information and major discussions of state policy issues, and exposure to the philosophies and thoughts of the state’s business, cultural, educational, and political leaders.

Fayette has previously been represented in the conference. In 2017, Cara Owings was selected for the Challenge. “It is highly competitive to get into, and it was life-changing,” she said.

The Greater Missouri Leadership Foundation is one of Missouri’s premier statewide women’s leadership development organizations. Founded in 1990, the 501(c)3 organization includes a network of more than 1,000 prestigious alumnae from throughout the state, including corporate executives, lawyers, physicians, allied health professionals, journalists, education leaders, artists, financial service industry leaders, nonprofit executives, engineers, entrepreneurs, and elected officials.
